Marilyn's considerable business experience has been gained over the past twenty years and many women on the business mailing lists often reap the rewards of her knowledge and sound business advice.
Marilyn resides in Castlegar, B.C. where she is actively involved in numerous projects that help to develop and promote businesses in her area. She's been the publisher and contributing member of an award-winning community newspaper; a consultant, counselor and mentor to small businesses in the West Kootenays; a member of the Minister's Advisory Council on Sport & Recreation; Tourism Chair for the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce and involved in a number of successful promotional projects for private enterprise in the area; a speaker at various functions; she's been an instructor in several business and tourism-related courses and, In October 1996, Marilyn started the monthly Kootenay Women's Networking group where business women from all over the valley have an opportunity to meet and network and do business with each other.
The Strong Communication Group offers the benefits of Marilyn's expertise in all of these fields! In addition to current projects with her business, she's also the list administrator for Kootenaybiz; a business list on the Internet that keeps local business folks in touch with business in the Kootenays area, and has, as a volunteer, taught introduction to the internet courses at her local library. This is a particularly valuable service as many residents in the area don't have the opportunity to connect to the Internet yet.
Congratulations, Marilyn, on your many achievements! It's no surprise to learn you've been entered in the 1996 and '97 editions of "Canadian Women's Who's Who" and we wish you many more successes in the future!
