Fiona operates "The Secretary - Word Pros" in Toronto, Ontario. What began in 1985 as part-time work in the evenings, while continuing her full-time position during the day, has developed into a successful homebased business serving 30 clients.
With a degree in Business from Dalhousie University and experience as a marketing administrative assistant and executive secretary, Fiona had a good foundation to build her business on. Her decision to develop a full-time business occurred as a result of corporate downsizing two years ago and her hard work and determination have paid off!
"The Secretary - Word Pros" offers a wide range of professional secretarial services that are of particular value to sole proprietors and other small businesses. Her home office contains all the equipment required to provide clients with database management, email services, correspondence, transcribing audio tapes and desktop publishing.
Fiona's business recently received media attention in an article in the supplement in "The Entertaining and Computing Magazine" and another article appeared in the Business section of "The Toronto Star" in January.
